Inhalt:
Conventional data centre distributed power architectures include an intermediate conversion stage which converts the nominal 48 V input to a regulated 12 V bus that is distributed to downstream 12 V-input converters positioned close to the point of load. Attention is turning once again to the strengths of a single-stage conversion from regulated 48 V down to voltages as low as 1V to supply loads such as CPU cores and DRAM chips. Such conversion can be achieved efficiently and cost-effectively thanks to the latest power MOSFETs and control techniques.
