Inhalt:
The main focus of this work is an analog Inductor Current Mapping (ICM) controller for an H-bridge power inverter that offers multiple ways to optimize the cost-size-weight-performance tradespace. While very simple, this controller provides a robust, high quality (e.g. the total voltage harmonic distortions <~ 1 %), and well-regulated AC output for a wide range of power factor loads, including highly nonlinear loads. A basic ICM controller is voltage-based and does not require any current sensors, or additional start-up and management means. We also outline the use of ICM controllers in 3-phase inverters, and in DC/DC converters for voltage, current, and power regulation.
