To fast develop the power electronic systems (PES) for diversifying application requirements, the need for new simulation methods is increasing. In this paper, a simplified universal method for realizing super real-time simulation (SRTS) is presented to enable that the long term performance of a PES can be evaluated and validated in a specific short-time by proportionally accelerating advancement of simulation time. Taking photovoltaic (PV) generation system as an example, firstly, the operation principle and general implementation process of the SRTS is described in detail. Secondly, the modeling method of PV generation system for SRTS is introduced in which averaged model is elaborated that can run faster, but retain the dynamic control characteristics of system. Finally, the proposed method is validated on a super real-time simulation platform. The results curried out from different time scales are shown to demonstrate the long term performances and dynamic behaviors of the PV generation system.
