The increasing influence of distributed generation units within the overall grid state is particularly notable for the reactive power exchange between the different voltage and system levels. Since the reactive power changeability differs according to the local load situation and controllable grid components, different regional characteristics have to be considered in analyses of the local power exchange. Hence a system model approach for all voltage levels is needed to analyze different regulatory strategies for the overall power exchange. Therefor a system model approach has been presented with an extension of an integrated grid and power market simulation for the transmission system with generic distribution grid models. This paper describes the possibilities of the current status of the system model approach for the analyses of regional characteristics and thereby some technical aspects as the variation of grid losses and the allocation of these values per voltage level.
