The task of voltage regulation in a low voltage (LV) distribution grid can be addressed by means of community energy storage systems (CESS) amongst other assets. We take a look on different operation strategies (OS) for that purpose, outline the information and communication technology (ICT) necessary for the different versions and additionally to the results we give insight in some lessons learned during the implementation and operation of a CESS for voltage regulation. This allows for a thorough discussion of necessary smart-grid infrastructures of the future.
