This paper deals with a laboratory setup to develop and investigate bi-directional modular DC/DC- converters for automobile applications. In addition to the system architecture, the integration of the power circuit into a control structure is described. Simulation and measurement results are presented and evaluated. These results refer to the control behaviour and efficiency depending on the number of active modules. Further, this paper illustrates results of EMC investigations on the bi-directional modular DC/DC-converter depending on the module constellation.
