Inhalt:
This paper presents an isolated bidirectional DC-DC converter for the use in electrical vehicles on-board power supply systems. Due to the high input/output voltage range and the high power level, the three-phase Dual Active Bridge (DAB) is chosen. To ensure the best performance concerning losses and volume, an optimal design is carried out by changing several parameters. Among them are power switches, storage inductance, transformer turn ratio, switching frequency, magnetic core shape and material, current density and parallelism of stages. After millions of iterations an optimized configuration with the best possible combination between losses and volume is found.
