Future, meshed HVDC networks will need specific measures to control the power distribution. This paper presents a suitable auxiliary converter and the associated control methods, which meets these requirement for any number of different meshed transmission lines. Fast control of the power distribution and good scalability of the converter are main advantages. The basic concept and the used control scheme are described. A simulation model with four interconnected HVDC lines has been used for verification.
