The TriMagiC Converter(TM) is a coupled inductor system in which magnetic fluxes are coupling between two phases interleaved converter. However, there are some differences to typical magnetics. The biggest difference lies in “the separated discrete components” and “the adaptation of appropriate magnetic materials to each part”. By making use of this, a very high peak converting efficiency of 97.9 % and small size magnetics of 28940 mm3 were obtained on the 1 kW/Block buck-boost Bi-directional converter sample, which was developed based on the Mild Hybrid Aux DC/DC requirements. 48 V ↔ 12 V 1 ~ 3 kW.
