Citrus Huanglongbing disease is a devastating plant disease in the world. By an analysis of high-throughput gene expression profiling, it could insight the influence of the Candidatus liberibacter on biological processes and gene functions, and identify the genes associated with the disease. We introduce a novel nonparametric statistical method, maximum information coefficient, to identify differentially expressed genes in Huanglongbing to explore the value while the method is used the field. And the method is compared to Rank Products and Wilcoxon’s signed-rank test. Our experiments suggest it is feasible to employ the method to identify the differentially expressed genes in citrus Huanglongbing.
