The paper presents implementation of an application for recognition of handwritten digits. As opposed to other literature source, concerning the topic, this work describes the whole recognition process – cutting the digit object from the whole image, processing the cut image and two machine learning algorithms for classifying the digit – kNN and SVM. The presented algorithms are tested by digits, written by 15 different persons.
