Inhalt:
Nonlinear dynamical systems coupled into a network configuration may exhibit different collective behaviors. Although the most studied one is complete synchronization, where all interacting units display a common state, in the last decade more attention has been devoted to study states in which only a subset of network nodes reach consensus disregarding the state of all the other nodes, namely cluster synchronization. Here, leveraging the latest results linking symmetries of the network to the onset of cluster states, we study the problem of controlling synchronization of an arbitrary group of nodes and propose a novel strategy aiming to guarantee the stability of the desired synchronous manifold.
