To study the effectiveness of perioperative care on the reduction of pressure ulcers incidence for patients undergoing femur fracture surgery. 90 patients who underwent femur fracture surgery in our hospital between March 2015 and March 2016 were taken as participants for the study and were assigned into the observation group (n=45) and the control group (n=45). Patients in the observation group were provided with perioperative care and patients in the control group were provided with conventional care. The incidence of pressure ulcers was compared between the two groups. The incidence of pressure ulcers in the observation group was 6.7%, significantly lower than that in the control group which was 4.17% and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Furthermore, there was no occurrence of stage III and stage IV pressure ulcers in the observation group. Perioperative care for patients undergoing femur fracture surgery can effectively reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers and thus improves the quality of life for patients.
