The paper presents development results of new reverse reverse-switched dynistor that is designed for commutation of power single and bi directional current pulses and that is triggered like thyristor with low power tri triggering pulse (RSDT). 5, 5,2kV 4 4-inch reverse switched dynistor with reverse conductance (RSD) was investigated, with integrated light triggered thyristor (LTT) as triggering element. Experimental test equipment was manufactured for forming of power current pulses and pumping current pulse s. Calc Calculations and measurements of transients were carried out for this device. Conditions were defined by them oscillation process after triggering of integrated thyristor produces pumping current pulse suff sufficient for RSD transition into commutation mode of high power bidirectional current pulses. Optimized RSDT variant is developed on the base of investigations. Commutation of bidirectional damped current pulses with magn magnitude about 10kA is demonstrated in high voltage arrangement.
