Inhalt:
In this work, the SEPIC topology is chosen for the development of a planar DC-DC converter using GaN components. It is chosen because of the relatively low number of components it requires and its capacity to operate in buck and boost modes. For high frequency operation in the order of megahertz, the aim is to construct a planar auto-transformer coupling the inductors of the SEPIC, making it possible to minimize the magnetic leakage losses through the use of only one core. Moreover, this allows and increase in the power density of the system. In addition, the ZVS soft-switching technique is implemented using the clamped voltage concept. Experimental results of operation of the converter are presented to validate the theoretical approach.
