Recently, the demand for application of DC transmission is growing fast due to the diversity of DC loads, such as large-scale data centers, electric propulsion ships and PV. Therefore, DC circuit breaker should play an indispensable role to make sure the safety of system. This paper is intended to expound on the different DC breaker characteristics and Solid State Circuit Breaker(SSCB) is chosen as the research target after comparisons between different DC Breaker. Δ’s latest research results of SSCB are introduced and the final experimental results are showcased.
