The goal of the following work was to reduce the scan duration of a high-precision gantry axis system for Scanning Acoustic Microscopy. To reduce the scan time, the settling time of the Y-axis should be reduced, since it is directly included in the scan time. For this purpose, a plug-in repetitive controller was implemented additionally to the position controller of the control cascade. With the help of the repetitive controller, the settling time of a test axis with an oscillating mass could be reduced from 20ms, by about 80 %, to 3.5 ms.
