Conductor crimping is an important link in transmission line construction. The advantages and disadvantages of crimping technology are important factors to determine whether the line can operate safely. This paper mainly analyzes the stress, strain, and distribution of the tension clamp conductor system. At the same time, it also compares and analyzes the stressstrain and contact force of the tension clamp aluminum pipe in the crimping process under different pair of edge distances. The conclusions are as follows: the deformation of the tension clamp is divided into three steps: circle -ellipse- regular hexagon; the deformation of the conductor is small, which mainly produces aggregation effect; the stress and strain of tension clamp and their changes affect the speed of compression die crimping; under the condition of standard edge distance, the stress-strain curve of tension clamp conforms to the stress-strain curve of component material; in the case of defects, the drawn stress-strain curve coincides with that in the case of standard edge distance, which still conforms to the objective law. According to the source of the grip force of the tension clamp, it can be inferred that different pair margins have a great impact on the contact force and grip force of the tension clamp, which needs to be paid enough attention by the crimping personnel.
