Working profile equation and profile curvature equation are the basis of cam mechanism design and analysis. Using the current design method to design disc cam with translating roller follower, the cam working profile equation is obtained indirectly, and the calculation process is cumbersome. The working profile equation and profile curvature equation of cam are derived by using rotation transformation tensor and meshing principle. The example of cam mechanism is analyzed, the three-dimensional model of cam mechanism is established by Creo, and the virtual prototype of mechanism is established, than the kinematics analysis and curvature analysis are carried out, the results of analysis verifies the correctness of the design method.
