Surface scratch has significant influence on the fatigue behaviour of Ti-5Al-2Zr-4Mo-4Cr, which has not been studied well. In this paper, the designed fatigue test with three different surface roughness are conducted out, and the fracture surface are detected to analysed the fracture characteristics of HCF fatigue failure of Ti-5Al-2Zr-4Mo-4Cr. It is found that the surface fatigue failure caused by surface scratch is the main failure type of most specimens for Ti-5Al-2Zr-4Mo-4Cr in HCF. And surface roughness has negative effect on the HCF failure of Ti-5Al-2Zr-4Mo-4Cr.
