With the development of space electro-magnetic field detection mission, the need of booms that push several of these instruments away from satellite with a clean electro-magnetic environment has become increasingly prominent. The STACER booms are appropriate choice in these mission by taking advantages of small stowed envelope, self-driven, and lightweight. The composition and working principle of mechanism for STACER is discussed. The relationship between the configuration parameters and the stiffness performance is deduced based on substitute continuum model. The correctness of the analysis models was validated.
