Due to the crux of its functionality and the particularity of its work environment, the failure prediction on the aircraft engine-driven pump (EDP) of hydraulic system has been eagerly anticipated for a long time. In this paper, the work principle of EDP is studied, and its critical failure modes were analyzed based on statistics data from operations and maintenance. Then an EDP failure prediction method based on the multi-source information fusion method was proposed. With the condition data trully collected from the aircraft in airline operation, this prediction approach was practically applied. Practice shows that this method can effectively extract the condition degradation trend of EDP, and can effectively predict the internal leak over limit failure of it. Prediction result was accurate enough to support maintenance decisions of EDP.
