With the rapid development of the intelligent manufacturing industry, welding robot workstations have been widely used in the forming and manufacturing of industrial products. In this paper, a new type of welding robot workstation composed of robot and positioner is designed. First, the forward kinematics analysis of the welding robot is carried out by using the kinematics method; Second, a robot workstation system is built based on RobotStudio to create tools and other mechanical devices, and program the workstation offline; Finally, the simulation of the designed workstation is set to carry out virtual motion simulation. The simulation results show that the welding robot workstation designed in this paper can effectively solve the problems that the end effector cannot be reached and the position and posture are incorrect when a single robot welds complex and large workpieces, which effectively improves the welding quality.
