The escalator / moving walk safety assessment is complicated, involving interested parties such as user management, maintenance company, and has no less than 100 single risk projects. The single risk project results will also be used repeatedly, which test the patience of the safety assessors. In order to solve these problems, this paper studies the practicability of escalator / moving walk safety assessment. First, the preliminary work of escalator / moving walk safety assessment is combed. Then the determination method of single risk category is described, the safety assessment of the whole machine is got according to the results of single risk projects. According the above method, the human-computer interface of safety assessment is provided, so as to make escalator / moving walk safety assessment more practical. An escalator safety assessment case is given and the practicability of the safety assessment is confirmed.
