Study on the smoke particles distribution characteristics of a certain tear gas bomb

Tear gas bomb adopts aerosol form to achieve stimulating effect on living targets, and its smoke particles distribution directly affects its combat effectiveness. Therefore, in order to provide theoretical support for the performance evaluation of a certain tear gas bomb, based on the measurement of the particle cumulative distribution and particle size of the sample smoke by the laser particle size analyzer, this paper researches the cumulative distribution of the smoke particle size, its variation regular with the particle size, and its growth changes situation with particle size, and so on. The results show that the particle size of the sample is less than 50micrometer and is suitable; and its distribution uniform and consistent is very excellent, 92.45% of the particles are distributed in the range of 4-28micrometer; the cumulative distribution of the aerosol smoke particle size presents the increasing gradient with the change of particle size, and it is mainly divided into 4 stages; the cumulative distribution of particle size increasing extent is biggest when the particle size is during 4~24 µm. The above results indicate that the smoke particles of a certain tear gas bomb have excellent distribution characteristics, which establishes a good foundation for ist operational effectiveness.
