Simulation of water hammer characteristics of liquid rocket engine

Taking the liquid rocket engine as the research object, the modeling and simulation study of its propellant filling process is carried out. The finite element state space method is used to model the propellant supply pipeline, and the influence of pipeline size parameters and initial pressure on the water hammer phenomenon in the filling process is simulated. The results show that during the propellant filling process, shortening the length of the pipeline, selecting an appropriate pipeline diameter, and reducing the initial pressure can effectively suppress water hammer.
