In a specific application such as space, the input voltage range may vary by a ratio of 6, the flyback is then an unavoidable solution. In ACQR Flyback, which is able to operate in soft switching mode, the sizing of the magnetic components plays a central role in the converter performance. The use of planar magnetic components allows a reduction of the cell volume and a more accurate choice of the component values. This article deals with the optimization of these components, from the characterization of materials to the manufacturing and the simulation phase. The volumes of the components thus manufactured allow a reduction of the losses of 30% and the volume of 50% compared to traditional components.
