Inhalt:
This work aims to compare different variants of the Planetary Motor, a multi-rotor electric machine concept, regarding the power output in a given machine volume. After a short motivation for this electric machine is given and its boundary conditions are stated, a baseline with an early Planetary Motor variant is established and compared to newer stator structures by their FEM simulation results. The investigation led to a novel machine design with a significantly increased output torque by utilizing a different stator and winding topology.
