Increased power density is considered an important trend in traction, medium-voltage drives (MVD), high-voltage DC transmission (HVDC), and other applications. To fulfill demanding application requirements, 3.3kV IGBT4 and EC4 technology with high electrical robustness and performance has been developed. Consequently, Infineon has introduced two new 3.3 kV IGBT4 modules with nominal current ratings up to 2400 A in industrial high voltage housing – B-series (IHV B). This latest module portfolio is an attractive new option for converters based on 3.3 kV IGBT3 IHV B modules forpower density increase and cost optimization.
