Linear Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave (LFMCW) radar can be used to monitoring the aircraft docking as its high range resolution. The linearity of linear LFMCW radar affects the measurement accuracy. In this article, a method to detect the linearity is presented. The fractional Fourier transform (FRFT) is used to calculate the frequency modulation (FM) rates. Let LFMCW radar signal mix with a ideal linear frequency modulation (LFM) signal, the intermediate frequency (IF) signal can be obtained and the Wigner-Ville Distribution (WVD) transform can be used to estimate the time-frequency function of the IF signal. This method can achieve a high precision time-frequency analysis. The measurement can show the precision of the presented method.
