SiC Power Devices and Application to Power Electronics

Power electronics technologies play important roles in driving energy conservation and low carbonization, where power devices are key components that support power electronics for efficient use of energy and are indispensable for power supply and control. In the paper, the market trend of power semiconductor devices is overviewed. Then state-of-the-art SiC power devices, such as SiC-MOSFET and SiC-SBD are introduced. The paper also forecasts the requirements of power electronics equipment with utilization of SiC power devices.
