Under the "30 ‧ 60" carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, due to huge pressure to reduce GHG emissions from single-vehicle products level and the total GHG emissions of the automobile industry, the automobile industry faces severe challenges in achieving the dual-carbon goals. This research analyzes the life cycle GHG emissions of different fuel types of passenger cars sold in China in 2020 from the perspective of single vehicle product, and focuses on the GHG emission reduction advantages and future potential of battery electric vehicles, which can provide a reference for the realization of GHG emission reduction at the product level.
