Energy storage has excellent active and reactive power regulation capabilities, and can provide fast power response to support grid transient stability. However, there are relatively few comprehensive studies on large-capacity energy storage supporting grid transient operation. Aiming at this problem, this paper firstly analyzed the main power angle, voltage and frequency transient stability problems in the actual operation of the power grid. Secondly, the energy storage electromagnetic transient model and the electromechanical transient model were modeled. Finally, the typical application scenarios in the actual power grid were selected for modeling, and the impact of energy storage on the system stability in each scenario was simulated and analyzed, so as to provided a reference for the comprehensive role of energy storage in practical applications.
