In order to better adapt to the generation requirements, it is necessary to optimize the power control system of the unit. Internal model control (IMC) is introduced into the power control system of thermal power unit and a new system is formed by adding built-in model into the original system. At the same time, the controller suitable for the system is designed to control the primary frequency modulation characteristics and AGC variable load performance of the control system under the condition of the change of the flow coefficient of the local valve of the turbine. The simulation results show that, after the introduction of internal model control, not only the new power control system has a significant improvement in many indicators, but also the frequency modulation process is not easy to appear "underintegration" and "overintegration" phenomenon. Therefore, the introduction of internal model control improves the coordination of thermal power unit source network.
