It is the key link to promote the efficient utilization of renewable energy by objectively evaluating the accommodation capability of the large-scale renewable energy power connected with power grid. In this paper, the accommodation capability evaluation method of large-scale renewable energy power connected with power grid is proposed. The basic characteristics and influencing factors of renewable energy power are analyzed. Considering the benefits brought by renewable energy and aiming at minimizing the system operation cost, the operation optimization model of power system with large-scale renewable energy power is established. The case studies of a certain region demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed method in accommodation capability evaluation of large-scale renewable energy. The research results of this paper have a certain significance for the development of renewable energy and generation expansion planning.
