Broadband power line carrier technology is widely used in the communication network of power grid information acquisition systems. The development of power line carrier communication technology is introduced, and the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing modulation method is briefly described. The necessity and importance of functional adaptability test of high-speed broadband power line carrier module are analyzed in this paper. It is proposed that the functional adaptability test of the carrier module mainly includes concurrent meter reading, transparent forwarding communication, and identification of station area. At the same time, a simple and reliable test method is designed according to various functional test contents. In terms of the average time consumption of HPLC module meter reading, single-chip concurrent meter reading takes the slowest time, and the success rate is 100%. The single-chip transparent forwarding communication test success rate is also 100%. The station recognition test results show that more than 90% of the manufacturers’ products can correctly identify the abnormal files in the station area, but the time-consuming is not the same. The test results in this paper are of great significance to the evaluation and selection of related high-speed broadband power line carrier modules and the improvement and perfection of associated products.
