As demands for renewable energy are promoting, the scale of wind farms increases and the distribution network structure becomes more complex. The large-scale system simulations with a high accuracy challenge traditional real-time electromagnetic transient simulation. This paper proposes a real-time co-simulation platform for grid-connected distributed DFIG based on RT-LAB and CloudPSS real-time simulators. The simulators are connected via optical fiber, and the realtime data interaction between the simulators is implemented based on Aurora protocol. A microgrid model is built in RT-LAB and a distributed DFIG model is built in CloudPSS to test the proposed co-simulation platform. The real-time cosimulation results are compared with offline simulation results, which model the whole system in MATLAB/Simulink. It demonstrates the proposed platform achieves real-time simulation with high accuracy. In addition, a hardware-in-theloop experiment is conducted and it shows that the proposed platform has the ability to interact with external controllers and can be extended to other applications.
