Inhalt:
The DC distribution network is witnessing a rapid growth recently because of its ability of friendly integration of renewable energy. However, the fault characteristics and insulation coordination strategies in DC distribution networks are not fully analysed yet. To bridge this gap, this paper focuses on the fault transient characteristics analysis. By setting up a complete model of double-terminal flexible DC distribution network, the fault transient characteristics at key components on AC/DC side as well as inside the converter station are simulated and analysed. Based on this, reasonable insulation coordination methods can be proposed, which will be instructive to the DC distribution network operation and protection.
