Power capability is the core technology of electric vehicles. To solve the low power density problems, poor high-current charging and discharging capacity and short cycle life of the current pure electric vehicle power battery, the hybrid energy storage system composed of supercapacitor and power battery is used as the research object to determine the structure of composite energy storage system composed of the battery and supercapacitor. The power requirements are analysed for the battery and supercapacitors of the drive motor in different operating states. And then the corresponding fuzzy control policy is devised for the power distribution of the composite energy storage system according to the required power of the vehicles, the SOC of the battery and the supercapacitor. Then electric vehicles model is established by using composite energy storage system on account of fuzzy control in ADVISOR and Simulink. By analysing the simulation results, it is shown that the hybrid energy storage system and its control strategy can simultaneously satisfy the dual requirements of pure electric vehicles for energy and power, and the economy and power of the vehicle can be improved. In comparison with single supply battery power, the pure electric vehicle motor drive system with hybrid energy storage system is more efficient, and the continuous mileage, maximum speed, minimum acceleration time and maximum gradeability for 50Km/h are improved on a single charge. The continued mileage is greatly increased by 32.47%, while avoiding the high current charging and discharging of the battery, and prolonging the battery service life.
