The introduction of embedded operating system has become an important trend in the field of smart electricity meters in view of the new requirements of IR46 standard and emerging new business scenarios for smart meters. However, the current conventional meter verification and test items do not involve testing for the function, performance and reliability of the operating system. The blind area of the conventional test will become a potential risk point affecting the quality of the new generation of smart meters. This paper puts forward a software testing method based on the hierarchical structure and operating principle of the new smart meter operating system. Through reliability testing technologies such as fault injection and scenario simulation, combined with the method of test-APP implantation of management core, this method realizes in-depth testing and comprehensive monitoring of operating system process operation, thread scheduling, resource utilization, and response efficiency, which provides a means for testing and analyzing the operating system software quality of smart meters.
