The survivability mechanism in the multi-domain backbone optical network has always been a key issue that we need to consider because it is related to information loss. Design 1+1 protection, 1:1 protection, 1: N (N=2) link-level protection schemes, rely on the VPI simulation platform, and analyze the results through the simulation of multi-domain optical network construction. It is concluded that the 1+1 protection scheme has almost no delay, but the 1: N (N=2) protection scheme is better than the other two in protection efficiency, and the protection scheme is extended on the basis of the ring network. One-way path loop protection and two-way path loop protection schemes are designed and simulated on the VPI simulation platform.
