A high gain passive/active switched-LC dc-dc converter is proposed in this paper. The basic building block of the proposed converter is the Cuk converter that has a diode in replacement of the output inductor. A voltage lift cell that consists of an inductor, a capacitor and two diodes is inserted after the input inductor to lift the voltage up. After that, the same components are reversed and connected differentially to realize higher voltage gain. The proposed converter has the following advantages: high voltage conversion ratio, reduced current and voltage ripple, and lower normalized voltage stress on the converter’s components. A detailed theoretical analysis of the proposed converter is discussed along with simulation results resembling a solar Photovoltaic (PV) Panel that produces a voltage of 25 V to verify the mathematical analysis of the proposed converter.
