This paper reports the hardware and control design of the primary side of a LCC SPS inductive power transfer (IPT) system. The proposal is implemented for variable power transfer up to 50kW and requires no communication with the EV secondary side. An interoperability study has been carried out to propose a primary resonant current control based on a voltage cancellation control strategy to induce a voltage in the secondary side. The approach advantages are its simplicity, reliability, and effective control of EV charging. Simulations are presented to validate the proposed design.
