Inhalt:
This study proposes an autonomous control scheme in which the power loss of a DC–DC converter is autonomously minimized by using switching frequency (fsw) adjustment. The power loss at a given time (Π) is calculated and retained, and the fsw for the next step is determined by comparing Π with that at the next time step, enabling autonomous control with a simple configuration. A 16V-to-3.9V DC–DC converter equipped with this function results in lower power loss than that of a converter with a constant fsw at various load conditions ranging from 8.2 to 15.6 W.
