Advanced thermal management technologies are critical to enabling higher power densities for meeting specific power, power density, and cost in power conversion applications. Traditional indirect and direct cooling methods have been limited or expensive in its ability to target the right amount of cooling where needed. This results in thermal imbalance leading to inefficiencies or a cost prohibitive solution. This paper presents the development of a high heat flux, low cost, jet impingement polymer-based heat ex-changer for a silicon carbide (SiC) power module used for traction applications in Electric Vehicles (EV). The location of jets has been optimized for higher cooling efficiencies using computational modelling and verified with experimental tests,
