Inhalt:
Peak ripple current is widely used to design inverter-side inductances of VSIs. It seems natural, that detailed studies have already been done. Nevertheless, this work shows a large divergence between existing design rules and actual results. For this reason, a new and fast method to evaluate the peak ripple current is presented. The method covers different topologies as same as different modulation techniques and allows a fast and accurate design of the inverter-side inductance. As an example, the 2-level VSI and 3-level T-Type VSI, both with CSV-PWM, are examined in more detail.
