This study shows a comprehensive evaluation of a three-phase wireless power transfer (WPT) system with a DD type receiver for AGV. Prior to the evaluation, the DD type receiver was designed for the three-phase system. The three-phase system with the designed receiver is confirmed to perform stable power transfer operation under lateral and vertical misalignments, and during movement of AGV. The tolerable misalignment is larger than that of the single-phase system. Although the three-phase system has lower operational efficiency, the three-phase system performs in significantly lower EMI, which can lead to ensuring safety for people and electronic equipment and higher capability of transferable power.
