This study analyzes the charging patterns of a university-based electric vehicle charging park based on 1,339 charging processes recorded between June 28, 2024 and August 4, 2025. The goal is to improve energy demand forecasting and support smart grid planning. Charging processes are strongly linked to working hours, with peak activity between 6:30 and 11:00 a.m. Daily charging activity typically ranges from 1 to 6 sessions, with peaks of up to 11. Weather factors have virtually no effect on charging behavior, while vacation periods reduce average energy demand by around 22 %. Most users commute consistently by car, resulting in a homogeneous user group and stable load profiles that can be transferred to comparable sites. Future increase in charging capacities and the introduction of bidirectional charging are expected to significantly alter these profiles, emphasizing the need for adaptive, intelligent charging strategies.
