With modern e-mobility demands, conventional buck-type VSIs require an added DC-DC boost stage, increasing system size and losses. This work proposes a switched-capacitor-based VSI (SCVSI) that integrates a single Switched-Capacitor Unit (SCU) with a standard three-phase inverter to achieve voltage boosting without magnetic components. A modified Sinusoidal PWM strategy enables extended linear modulation and effective DC bus utilization. By activating the SCU during part of the cycle, capacitor stress and ripple are minimized. The scalable design is validated through MATLAB/Simulink and OPAL-RT 4510 experiments, offering an efficient, compact solution for EVs, photovoltaics, and energy storage systems.
