Power converters are critical to the performance and reliability of modern electronic systems, from consumer devices to renewable energy infrastructure. Ensuring their stability and dynamic performance requires robust analytical tools, among which frequency response analysis (FRA) plays a pivotal role [1]. This paper investigates the application of FRA techniques in the design and optimization of various power converter topologies, including buck, boost, flyback, and resonant converters. We explore a range of frequency-domain methods—such as Bode plots, Nyquist and Nichols diagrams, S-parameters (e.g., S21), impedance/admittance analysis, and loop gain measurements—highlighting their theoretical foundations and practical relevance. A key contribution of this work is the development of a native oscilloscope- based solution that enables real-time frequency response analysis without the need for external processing systems. This approach supports live frequency sweeping plots, offering immediate visual feedback for tuning and diagnostics. Through simulation and experimental validation, we demonstrate how these techniques can be applied to enhance converter stability, optimize control loop performance, and mitigate EMI. The paper also discusses the integration of FRA with modern instrumentation and outlines future directions, including AI-assisted tuning and embedded diagnostics. This work aims to provide a practical and accessible framework for engineers and researchers to implement frequency response analysis directly within their lab environments, accelerating the design and validation of power electronic systems.
